The Programme aims
Train qualified specialists in simultaneous and consecutive translation.
The Programme has been developed in view of market requirements to train specialists in conference interpreting and cross-cultural communication. The programme provides theoretical knowledge and develops practical skills in consecutive, simultaneous, and written translation.
Upon completing the Programme, you will be able to:
- take part in organising conferences, symposia, workshops, negotiations, and other events with two or more working languages;
- manage teams of linguists solving research or production problems.
This unique program is implemented in cooperation with a wide network of partner universities. You will be able to gain cross-disciplinary knowledge about the Baltic Sea region, its linguistic, cultural and geopolitical specifics, and conduct scientific research in the heart of the region. You will be able to master the techniques of effective intercultural communication in the field of diplomacy, business, culture, science, improve your knowledge of modern international relations and international regional studies, improve your oral, consecutive and simultaneous translation skills. You can also choose your own learning path and further professional development by studying English and one of the languages of the Baltic region (Polish or German) on an advanced level.

Core disciplines: history and methodology of science; history, culture, and art of the first foreign language country; general linguistics and history of linguistic ideas; cultural linguistic aspects of conference interpreting; theory of oral translation; protocol and ceremony; professional discourse; simultaneous translation from the first foreign language into Russian

Students participate in the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme.
Professional Training / Internships
Leading Russian and foreign experts in translation, regional studies, international relations, politics, and business are involved in the implementation of the programme. Students do their internships at the University of Greifswald (Germany). The training is carried out in different formats: workshops, training sessions, master classes, practical assignments based on real cases, and participation in professional competitions which allow the students to build a path for their professional development and find useful contacts for career growth.

Admission & Tuition
To enter a Master's programme applicants are required to take the following exams:
- Written exam (or a test) in the chosen field of study (100 points maximum)
- Foreign language (a pass or fail test)
We also accept international certificates of proficiency in English
