The goals of the programme

  • Train highly qualified competitive specialists in ecology and nature management

  • Comprehensive study of the theoretical foundations of general ecology, geoecology, human ecology, social ecology, environmental protection, and applied ecology. The knowledge gained will help students orient in a variety of environmental technologies, modern methods of environmental protection, as well as fundamentals of the study of atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere.

Advantages of the programme

In order to provide practice-oriented training in Ecology and Nature Management, the Immanuel Kant Baltic University has founded a Resource Centre for Training Specialists in Ecology and Nature Management. The Centre is an asset to the programme.

Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:

  • participate in field studies and research expeditions;
  • collect and process data for environmental impact assessment;
  • assess different types of impact on the environment;
  • elaborate strategies and programmes of regional development, taking into account the existing natural resource potential;
  • carry out environmental impact assessment of socio-economic and economic activities;
  • teach geography in schools, colleges and universities.
