Preparatory Course

Courses and study load

The programme consists of several parts:

Intensive Russian Language course

Duration: October 1 – July 31

Study load: 1 584 hours (612 contact hours)

The goal of the course is to help international students achieve B1 level of language proficiency. In the first semester, all students take this course to prepare for other courses taught in Russian within this programme.

Russian studies

Duration: April 1 – July 31

Study load: 324 hours (108 contact hours)

The goal of the course is to familiarize students with key milestones in Russian history, geography and social-cultural aspects of life.

Core subjects

Duration: March 1 – July 31

Study load: 432 hours (288 contact hours)

There are several blocks of core disciplines offered to students according to the chosen degree programme. It is done to prepare students for taking their entrance examinations at the university.

Humanities and Economics - History, Social Science, Literature

Engineering and Technology – Mathematics and Physics

Medicine – Biology and Chemistry

Preparation for entrance exams

Duration: May 1 – July 31

Study load: 36 hours

The goal of this course is to familiarize students with the format of entrance examinations at the university and ensure their successful passing.

  • Copy of education certificate with grades and courses
  • Notarized translation of the education certificate 
  • Medical certificate
  • HIV test certificate
  • Motivation letter (written in English or Russian)
