Objectives of the Research Seminar (RS):
  • Developing MA and PhD programmes , including post-doc;
  • Developing research (methods and projects, supervision);
  • Defining performance indicators;
  • Searching for external funding;
  • Boosting publication activity;
  • Enhancing international co-operation/networking with universities.

Current project implemented by the RS staff and MA students – Online Translation Studies Bibliography (Russia)

Objectives of the ongoing project Online Translation Studies Bibliography (Russia):

  • To make research works in Translation and Translation Studies published in Russia (in Russian, English or any other languages) better known in the world;
  • To boost Translation Studies in Russia;
  • To link what has been achieved in the past (in the multilingual USSR, e.g. in terminology, Machine Translation) with what is done today (trends, topics, research centres)

Target readers: Translation Studies scholars in and outside Russia.

The Institute of the Humanities organizes regular seminars, with presentations by guest speakers from Russia and international institutions, and by the Research Seminar (RS) own members, both staff and research students.

The seminar programme is published on this page at the start of each term.

Each seminar is followed by informal discussion.
