IKBFU researchers together with the Regional Clinical Hospital’s doctors have conducted a joint clinical and morphological analysis of papers devoted to the timely diagnosis of pre-tumor processes and early gastric cancer. Malignant neoplasms are one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality.
The Korean guests have had a meeting with IKBFU Rector and then visited Korean songs and dances contest “KtoK Day” (Korea to Kaliningrad Day). The contest was organized by the Russian-Korean cultural center.
Young IKBFU scientists Ksenia Chichay and Sergey Shevirtalov have taken part in the international school on the basis of synchrotron radiation physics. The event was held in Muggia, Italy. Young scientists from Italy, Spain, France, Poland, Slovenia, Britain, Hungary, Germany, Ukraine, and Russia took part in the event.
Dara Gayeva’s research is devoted to the role of gardens in developing an urban ecosystem with special focus on bees and other insects’ habitat. The research is important for urban development as in big cities there is always a conflict between population growth and lack of space for building new homes. The research will make it possible to estimate the economic and ecological role of green zones in a city.
An International Conference “Advanced materials with hierarchical structures for new technologies and reliable structures” was held in Tomsk from the 1st to 5th of October in Tomsk. IKBFU researcher from the Megascience coherent optics center, Maxim Korobenkov took part in the conference.
On the 9th of October Finnish Consul General Anne Lammila has visited the IKBFU. During the meeting, the Consul told the students about Finland, its educational system and how important confidence is for the people of Finland.
IKBFU center for clinical research scientists have participated in the international VARSITY clinical research. It’s the world’s first research aimed at finding the most effective drug among anti-inflammatory ones for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a long-term condition that results in inflammation and ulcers of the colon and rectum. The disease can cause severe complications, starting with fistula in neighboring internal organs with a risk of peritonitis and ending with malignant neoplasms. The research was carried out in 245 research centers of 34 countries (19 Russian centers were among them).
