26 October 2018A meeting of the Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities will take place in Kaliningrad this week, October 26-27.
This permanent advisory body was created five years ago by a decree of the Russian government. The Council includes foreign and Russian representatives of the academic community, government officials in charge of education reforms, as well as recognized world experts and researchers.
Prior to this 11th meeting of the Council, IKBFU was visited by members of this advisory body: Philip Altbach (USA), Founding Director of the Center for International Higher Education in Boston, Tsui Lap-Chee, Vice-Chancellor and President of Hong Kong University, and Min Weifang, Executive President of the Chinese Society for Education Development Strategies.
The distinguished guests were taken on a tour of some structural units of the university.
The 11th meeting will hear the reports of universities - participants of the 5-top-100 Project on the implementation of competitiveness improvement programs in 2017. In addition, the Council will work out the recommendations for the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education on further state support for 5-top-100 Project and some proposals for universities on updating their competitiveness programs.
