4 July 2018The International Information Group "Interfax" published the results of the IX annual National University Rating (NRA) for 2017-2018. IKBFU ranks the 30th out of 288 universities. The rating of our university has improved by 37 positions in comparison with the last year, and in comparison with 2015 it has become 49 positions higher. The most significant growth has been achieved due to successful promotion in the "Research", "Innovation", and "Socialization" categories.
Andrey Klemeshev, Rector of IKBFU:
"Of course, the ratings are not an end in themselves, but they can serve as a tool for self-assessment to the university, reflect the dynamics that the university demonstrates when moving towards the set goals, the results of the processes that are constantly going on in the university. We are seriously expanding the research potential, have introduced new competitive requirements for teachers, strengthened cooperation with business”.
In addition, last year IKBFU was among the winners of "Universities as centers of innovation creation", the priority project of the Ministry of Education and Science, the main goal of which is to strengthen the positive impact of universities on the social and economic development of the regions.
Great efforts are also being made by the university to develop the attractiveness of the university and the region for foreign students and international academic mobility. The share of foreign students has increased to 6% in recent years, and more than 25% of talented students enrolled in our university arrived to the Kaliningrad region from other regions of Russia.
Today the rating of TOP-100 Russian universities conducted by the rating agency "Expert RA" has been published. IKBFU has improved its position in comparison with 2017 by 4 points, being ranked the 90th. The agency measures the performance of all leading universities in the country, but only the top hundred get to the final list.
