IKBFU’s neuroscience, economic geography, and semiotics projects win Russian Science Foundation’s contest

17 April 2018
The projects of three IKBFU’s researchers have been supported within the Russian Science Foundation’s team research contest.

The contest received 3,654 applications, which went through two contest stages. Russian and international experts prepared over 12,500 reviews.

The experts distinguished 525 applications. Three of them had been submitted by IKBFU’s researchers – Dr Maksim Patrushev, Prof Gennady Fedorov, and Prof Suren Zolyan. Annual funding under the grants will range from four to six million roubles. The projects will be carried out in 2018-2020.

Prof Fedorov’s team will study the ways to ensure the economic security of Russia’s western border regions in the turbulent geopolitical conditions. Dr Patrushev’s team will examine the molecular mechanisms of the effect of neuroinflammation on neuron autophagy. Prof Suren Zolyan will focus on the mechanisms of word-formation and textualisation in performative discourse and practices.
