3 November 2017On October 2, 2017, the XXX International Symposium on Holography, Coherent Optics and Photonics opened in the "FABRIKA" Science and Technology Park. The school has tracked and shaped all major developments in the field since the 1960s. XXXth Symposium on Holography and Coherent Optics continues the series of schools on coherent optics and holography held in different cities of the Soviet Union from 1969 to 1991. The XXIII all-Russian School on Coherent Optics and Holography was organised in Dolgoprudny in 1994, and the following ones were held in Yaroslavl (1997), Irkutsk (2007), Moscow (2010), Nizhny Novgorod (2013), and Tomsk (2015). The history of the school is an encyclopaedia of research in holography and related areas.
The event brought together an international audience: almost a hundred leading scientists and young researchers from Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Belgium, the United States, the Baltic countries participated in the discussions. The conference offered a platform for discussion on the most topical issues related to theoretical methods of optical holography, the analysis of hologram properties, digital image processing, holographic and speckle interferometry, speckle-correlation methods of optical measurements, spectroscopy of molecular systems, coherent X-ray optics and many others.
Dr.Victor Demin, vice-rector for undergraduate and graduate studies (Tomsk State University) and Dr.Yuri Zakharov (Harvard University) co-chaired the conference and moderated discussions.
The aim of the XXX symposium (school) is to discuss the latest achievements and technological breakthroughs in holography, coherent optics, and photonics in Russia and abroad, identify and systematize current problems and trends in the development of these fields of research, exchange research best practices, and increase the interest of young researchers to scientific collaboration.
