26 October 2017The staff of the IKBFU’s Laboratory for X-ray Optics and Physical Materials Science attended the 24th International Congress on X-ray Optics and Microanalysis (ICXOM24 / icxom24.it). The event took place on September 25-29, 2017, in Trieste (Italy). The Congress brings together leaders in X-ray optics to discuss achievements in creating X-ray micro- and nanoanalysis tools and techniques. This year, the focus was on synchrotron radiation and laboratory X-ray sources.
IKBFU’s Ivan Lyatun, Svetlana Medvedeva, Anton Narikovich, and Dmitry Zverev made poster presentations at the ICXOM24.
‘Participating in a conference of such esteem is an excellent opportunity to present our laboratory and to discuss our findings and their applications with renowned scientists. Our presentation aroused interest from the European XFEL (Hamburg, Germany). We’re discussing collaboration opportunities.’
‘I was immensely impressed by the ELETTRA synchrotron. The facilities are used in various applications ranging from physics of solids and medicine to the restoration of cultural heritage objects… The presentations of young researchers were of very high quality.’
