Lomonosov-2017 student conference: IKBFU wins numerous awards

The ‘Lomonosov-2017’ 24th international student research conference was held on April 10-14 at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The conference’s Organizing Committee is co-chaired by the Rector of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, and Russia’s Minister of Education and Science, Olga Vasilyeva.

The winners form IKBFU are:

  • Alena Maslova, second-year student of bioengineering and bioinformatics, Institute of Living Systems. Her work titled ‘The translation of non-equivalent lexis in bioengineering’ was named Best Presentation on the ‘Theory, Methods, and History of Translation’.

  • Ruzanna Makyan, fourth-year student of biology, Institute of Living Systems. Her presentation titled ‘Parks as a means to improve urban environment’ went through the expert selection in the ‘Environmental protection’ category;

  • Elena Buderkina, second-year PhD student of Journalism, Institute for the Humanities. Her work titled ‘The Kaliningradskaya Pravda newspaper as a tool for creating a Soviet identity on the new Soviet territory’ was named Best Presentation in the ‘Literary process and journalism: History, criticism, essays’ category.

  • Ekaterina Novgorodova, first-year PhD student, Institute for the Humanities. Her work ‘The high social importance of research’ won the ‘Social psychology: Problems of studying individuals in a group’ category.

  • Ekaterina Yurkova, second-year master's degree student of philology, Institute for the Humanities, received a special award for her presentation titled ‘The plot syntax of Daniil Kharms’s prose’.
