Programme Information

The programme aims to train highly qualified scientists capable of introducing innovations into science and education in the spheres of civil, business, family, and private international law.

Programme's advantages:

The PhD programme is designed to meet the following professional standards: "Teacher" professional standard (draft); "Researcher" professional standard (draft).

Upon completing the programme, you will:

  • be able to find solutions to complex conceptual and practical problems in civil, business, family, and private international law;

  • have mastered the basics of the law making, expertise and enforcement in civil, business, family, and private international law

Courses & Study Load

ECTS credits: 180

Core courses: Scientific Research Methodology and Results Presentation, Current Problems in the Field, Scientific Research Module, Civil Law, Business Law; Family Law; Private International Law, Research Seminar, Current Challenges in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, Elective courses, Contract Theory in Civil Law / Legal Personality in Private Law.

Professional Training / Internships

The University Library provides access to current scientific literature on the subject.

Research results can be published in the IKBFU's periodicals included into the list of leading journals peer-reviewed by the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the RF. The IKBFU's Publication Support Centre provides assistance in research materials preparation and publication in journals indexed in international abstract databases (Scopus, Web of Science).

The IKBFU is a participant of the "5-100" project aimed to enhance international competitiveness of Russian universities. This creates additional opportunities for obtaining research grants and for academic mobility.

Career Opportunities

The graduates can pursue career ¾ in law making and implementation; research; expert and consulting work; law enforcement.

Admission & Tuition
State-funded applicants (Russian nationals and  Russian speaking applicants from the CIS countries) are  expected to  take  the following exams:
