Basic courses: advanced skills in silico and experimental design of functional macromolecules, regulated genetic systems engineering, modification of nucleic acids, the development of solutions for the creation of regulated complex molecular systems, bioinformatics, analysis of large data sets, programming environment, statistics, implementation of laboratory solutions in pilot productions.
Professional Training / Internships
This master's program includes a number of internships: teacher training, research work, practical training.
This training is aimed at obtaining in-depth knowledge and practical skills and professional competences for working in research and industrial laboratories.
Teacher training sets a number of tasks which consider obtaining primary professional skills:
to master skills of safe handling of chemicals and biological material.
to master methodologies, skills and techniques of laboratory work.
to learn modern methods and means to address research and practical tasks in genetic, protein and tissue engineering, as well as synthetic biology and biomimetic chemistry.
to acquire skills of independent research and practical work by performing various tasks on the curriculum.
Discussion and choice of the research area for a graduate students. A student's own research work; identifying the purpose and objectives of the training; time-framing; analysis of relevant publications and on-line resources; selection of equipment and materials needed to carry out the research, introduction of safety rules and regulations.
Carrying out laboratory research aimed at gathering information. Analysis of the relevant publications from the collection of IKBFU library and on-line resources. Collection and analysis of background information. Testing of research methodology. Obtaining research results. Processing the received information with up-to-date computer programs.
Preparing research articles or abstracts for publication. Preparing a draft table of contents for master's thesis.
Preparing final documents: a journal, a written report with recommendations. Composing a presentation of final outcomes to be defended at the Departmental meeting.
