Linguistics «Orthodox culture and cross-cultural communication»
The Programme aims to train specialists in linguistics, cross-cultural communication, and orthodox culture for teaching foreign languages and religious disciplines at secondary vocational institutions and universities.
Over 60% of modules are delivered in English. The Programme has an international partner – Christian Albrecht University of Kiel. Professors form Kiel give lectures on hermeneutics, history, and cross-cultural communication in English.
Upon completing the Programme, you will:
be familiar with the basics of the Orthodox culture,
be able to teach spiritual and religious disciplines.

Courses & Study Load
Number of ECTS credits: 120.
Core disciplines: first foreign language practice, professional terminology, methodology for teaching religious disciplines, hermeneutics of biblical and patristic texts, Russian conservatism and contemporary cross-cultural communication, anthropological and hermeneutic analysis of hagiographical texts, ancient languages and cultures, written translation from ancient languages into Russian, anthropological foundations of pedagogy in the context of Christian axiology, basics of Cristian ethics and aesthetics, theory of cross-cultural communication, world religious cultures, basics of rhetoric and homiletics
Centre for the Spiritual and Patriotic Education of the Kaliningrad Regional Institute of Education Development, Department of Religious Education and Catechisation of the Kaliningrad Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, Sergey Rachinsky Centre for Spiritual Education, Orthodox Gymnasium of the Kaliningrad Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, schools of Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad region.
Students also participate in the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme.
Professional Training / Internships
Graduates are employed at educational institutions, spiritual educational centres, language centres, centres for mediation, social adaptation, and rehabilitation, coordinating centres supervised by religious organisations, and charity and non-profit organisation.
Admission & Tuition
To enter a Master's programme applicants are required to take the following exams:
Written exam (or a test) in the chosen field of study (100 points maximum)
Foreign language (a pass or fail test)
We also accept international certificates of proficiency in English
Cambridge exam: PET, FCE, CAE, CPE; IELTS; TOEFL or
