Polymeric Materials

Classical spin probe approach is adapted for diagnostics of the structure and establishment of the main features of biodegradation of polymeric materials based on polylactides and polilaktidglikolides containing biologically active substances. Compounds containing nitroxyl radical fragment are used as a spin probes. The high sensitivity of the EPR spectra of these substances to the structure and dynamics of local environment of paramagnetic molecules provides information about the localization of the active compounds in polymeric materials, as well as the release of these substances from the polymer matrix during its degradation. The research is aimed at developing of bioactive polymer structures for tissue engineering, as well as dosage forms with controlled release.
