Research project

Nanotechnology is based on the ability of manipulating soft and hard matter at the nanometer scale in order to tune their physical and chemical properties. This control allows the development of new functionalized smart materials for applications in many different fields. Indeed, nanomaterials with controlled size, shape, surface and chemical composition represent the building blocks of every type of nanotechnology device. The combination of phases with different physical properties in nanocomposite and nanohybrid nanomaterials allows to also exploit the interface coupling as a unique tool for realizing new concepts for mechanical, electronic and magnetic devices with multi-functionalities.
