IKBFU is one of the six new universities to have joined the 5-100 project. The overall goal of the project is for five Russian universities to feature in the international rankings’ top 100 by 2020. The University successfully presented its programme of academic excellence to the Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities among Leading Global Research and Education Centers.
The Council consists of prominent academics, public officials and international education experts, including Philip Altbach (Founder of the Center for International Higher Education in Boston), Michael Crow (President of Arizona State University), Edward Crawley (President of Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology), Koenraad Debackere (Managing Director of the Catholic University of Leuven), Malcolm Grant (Chairman of NHS England), Tsui Lap-Chee (Vice-Chancellor and President of Hong Kong University), Min Weifang (Executive President of the Chinese Society for Education Development Strategies), Andrei Volkov (Professor, Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO) and Igor Agamirzian (CEO of Russian Venture Company).
